End of September

 Well September has been and gone, and my bedtime is coming earlier and earlier! It gets dark so quickly, and mummy is having to wake me up in a morning now, whereas a few weeks ago I was up way before her and playing with my toys! Also, my air purifier has gone and popped on us, so it is ever so quiet in the room at the moment. GavGav has ordered me a new one though.

So the last of the wildness for September - some plants still in bloom/just coming into flower:


 Mummy made a face out of conkers - I told her it was not a very obvious face - she should have used a leaf of some sort for the mouth - but she just doesn't listen!

 The colours of autumn - I love the reds against the green. I do like yellows too, as they match my crest - yellow is a very good colour!
 And finally the blueberry bushes have turned a bluey-purple colour now that the nights are closing in. They are absolutely stunning! They would look really lovely next to my white plumage (but mummy would be very upset if I took them hehe).
Well it is dark and my daylight lamp has now gone out so I guess it is bedtime. I will go and tell mummy now :). Don't forget to take the time to see what is still about in nature!

Ooh hello everybody, Have you come here from mummy's blog? To find out about this picture It is a pretty poor picture as the camera refused to focus on the tiny little spider. So GavGav got interested in spiders over a year ago now. He still has a slight phobis of them, but his way of overcoming it is to find out more aboout them, and the fear transforms into interest instead. It seems to be working as he likes to go out with his sonic toothbrush, making the spiders lunge out to try and grab it, and he has also got himself two taratulas. Hmm it would appear that we do not have any photos of them yet, so I shall have to get some to show you! Introducing Myself

Hi there, My mummy has finally decided to write a blog for me - so I can tell you all about the Nature we see around here. First I would like to introduce myself. I am a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, with some mino behavioural problems. My mummy got me from a pet shop when my previous owner died, and the remaining family were unable to look after me. This was about 8 years ago now! My mummy thinks that I may have had some trouble with the families younger children as my wings were very severely clipped (so that it took 3 years for them to grow back correctly) and I panic if ever I have to sit on somebodies arm, or shoulder, or pretty much anywhere (except maybe their knee if they are petting my head - for a brief time). I have some noisy little parakeets that share a room with me. They are in two cages of pairs, and they are loud when they get started (although GavGav tells me I am much louder and more annoying - I am not sure I actually believe him). Autumnal delights

Well it has certainly gotten cold now. Mummy is starting to look for an indoor hutch for Piggy, as he is getting old and mummy doesn't think he will be able to cope with the extremes of temperature. However, she hasn't done a good job of finding one so far - I don't think she is commited enough yet! If he had made friends with Henry he could have had a body to cuddle with to keep warm in my opinion. Anyway, yesterday mummy was nearly late for work due to trying to photograph another micro-moth inside the house, this time in the kitchen. We are not sure if this is the same species as the previous one, or a different species from the same family. And today there was lots to see out by the duck pond - besides all the greedy ducks that is lol.
