Autumnal delights
Well it has certainly gotten cold now. Mummy is starting to look for an indoor hutch for Piggy, as he is getting old and mummy doesn't think he will be able to cope with the extremes of temperature. However, she hasn't done a good job of finding one so far - I don't think she is commited enough yet! If he had made friends with Henry he could have had a body to cuddle with to keep warm in my opinion.
Anyway, yesterday mummy was nearly late for work due to trying to photograph another micro-moth inside the house, this time in the kitchen. We are not sure if this is the same species as the previous one, or a different species from the same family.
And today there was lots to see out by the duck pond - besides all the greedy ducks that is lol.
Firstly there was ratty:
Poor little guy is terrified of the ducks, as they are likely to just stand on him without even realising he was there!
Then we noticed that one of the very tall trees that we always stand under to feed the ducks is actually a pear tree full of fruit. Of course far too high for any of us to reach, although I would have flown up there if they would let me - I could get that yummy fruit down. On the floor was a pear that had fallen off - mummy went to see if it was actually Pear or if it was Quince, but somebody had gotten in there first:
They were loving this sweet fruit! But they were not showing any signs of aggression, so the fruit was obviously not rotting yet hehe.
Then there was this little Robin, who comes down every time to share the duck food (which is mainly grains) with the ducks and the rat - he kept moving out of the sun everytime the camera focused on him unfortunately, but he did sing us a lovely song.
We also saw a very large, very green dargonfly, along with a few ruddy darters, but they were not settling for mummy to take a photo, and as she is using her phone camera it is not easy to get a decent picture of a moving target.
Right mummy says I am being very loopy and also fluffy as I fall asleep, so I best finish this post here. I am always willing to answer any questions you may have though - just pop a comment on here.
